Mediation and Fieldwork
Conflict almost always arises from a breakdown in communication, from a moment when the « I » of one refuses to listen to the « I » of the other. Our field teams intervene before the rupture becomes irreversible.
What we do concretely
We-ism translates its principles into concrete actions in service of rebuilding the social fabric and lasting peace. Through the Peacebuilders' Network, one of the instruments of its Programmatic Framework, it implements the following actions:
- Training local mediators, able to prevent conflict, restore dialogue, and support divided communities, displaced persons, and former combatants in their social reintegration.
- Facilitating community dialogue, reconciliation, and the rebuilding of trust between individuals, families, and peoples.
- Applying the Realism of Forgiveness as a lever for transitional justice, grounded in the acknowledgment of facts, the pursuit of truth, responsibility, reparation, and the restoration of human relationships — never confusing forgiveness with forgetting, denial, or impunity.
These actions aim to transform fractures into cooperation, antagonisms into coexistence, and wounded memories into a shared future, in accordance with the fundamental principle of We-ism:
« I am useful, therefore We are. We are, therefore I exist. »
