Become a Companion

By signing the Companions' Charter of the Way, you declare your renunciation of the illusion of individualism and commit, on your honour and before your community, to respecting and embodying ten principles — from Useful-Existence to embodiment through example. In return, the Charter grants you five guarantees: what the Way owes you, and what no one may demand of you in its name.

You will also be recognised as a Living Landmark: a person whose daily existence, more than their words, bears witness to the soundness of this Way.

The ten principles

1. I exist through service.
2. The We before the Me.
3. My word weaves, it does not cut.
4. I listen before I judge.
5. I am present where it hurts.
6. I forgive to free the future.
7. I share, and I keep for the community.
8. I refuse tribalism in all its forms; the border is an encounter.
9. I support my fellow Companions like the strands of a single rope.
10. I live what I say, every day.

The five guarantees

The ten preceding principles bind me. The five guarantees that follow bind the Way towards me.

11. The right to contradict.
12. The freedom of contribution.
13. Grounded disobedience.
14. Withdrawal without dishonour.
15. The right to limits and to rest.

What you receive

The Companion Card

Upon signing the Charter, every Companion receives their card: a personal, non-transferable object, issued in their name and bearing their Companion number. It stands as tangible proof, in any circumstance, of their belonging to the Way of « We ».
